Well I did a ride along on Monday and it was very intersting. It was pretty busy for a Monday afternoon. A child custody dispute, drug tip, suspected break-in, domestic dispute, parental kidnapping. Wow that is what I get to look forward too....I cant wait!

The background investigator started his investigation yesterday soooo..... anyone who as known me is fair game. And....most likely it wont be a phone interview, I think he will stop by your home or work and talk about me. I think its kinda cool all the trouble he is going through to verify I'm a good guy.

"V"

Last night I watched "V" for Vandetta. A really good movie. It does have a strong anti-goverment statement but it is funny, good action, and intense. Last pay week at the news-leader I got 8 hours of overtime due to the tornados. That wore me out a lil bit. I have been gun shopping and I found the one I am gonna get. A Walther P99, .40 cal. it runs between $500-650.

On sunday I had to work and I had to go to this church in Nixa because this family is being helped out by the church. So I had to stay during the service. Let me say that one of the two pastors needed to ease up on the holy water. He had jesus flowing out of everywhere. Jesus this, Jesus that, Lord Lord Lord, we thanked jesus for hour and a half. After it was over I was thanking Jesus for it being over.

We had a hell of a storm this weekend.  A ton of tornados. I had to go in on my day off to cover the disaster. I ended up going to Marshfield where the damage wasnt as bad as it was in Nixa but thats just because the tornado in Marshfield was in the country and the one in Nixa was in crowded subdivisions. So check out the pics at the News-leader.

In other news I passed the interviews and tests to become a Springfield police officer. Now just some background checks and physicals. So thats cool news.

I had drill a week or two ago and it started out good and went crazy from there. It wasnt a bad drill, I got a 244 on my pt test, which is good. Third highest in the company for guys. I found a new platoon sergeant to replace my current one which is leaving the army this summer. We had problems with paintball training. But everyone got some good training out of it. Hopefully we will be able to continue it in the future if we can prevent injuries.

Truckers

Last Saturday I was taking pictures of a Chili cookoff when I got a call of a fatal wreck on I-44. I made my way there just as the air medivac was taking off to go to St. Johns Hospital. I got closer and started snapping pics of a truck driver undergoing a field sobriety test. I talked to a highway patrol trooper and found out what happened. A car with two older people had pulled off the road for some reason. The wife (passenger) was on her way home from neck surgery. As they had pulled off the road a tractor trailer plowed into them from the rear throwing their car into a nearby field. The truck was pushed into the back seat. The male driver was killed instantly. Most likely a snapped neck from the force of an 18-wheeler hitting a parked car at 70+ miles per hour. The wife was very seriously hurt from flying glass and the force of the impact. The first paramedic on the scene made a horrifing discovery. The victims in the car were his parents. His dad lay dead in the drivers seat and his mom bleeding in the passanger seat. The paramedic's brother is a highway patrolman. The truck driver fails his field sobriety test. The parents of a trooper and paramedic killed by a drunk driver. This is a real story. Check out the Sunday paper.

Shot in the face!

Funny? Yeah its funny. The VP of the United States shot a guy in the face! Hunting accidents happen to everyone, just funnier when its two old rich guys. I have been "peppered" before. It hurts. Luckly none penetrated the skin. My camo absorbed most of the shot. In other news I have got the cold again. Yuck. I hate being sick. And .... I passed all the physical and written tests I took for Springfield Police.
